As part of our ongoing commitment to
providing the best student experience, our Fountains Learning
Centre has been transformed during the summer of 2011. The
three floors of the library have been modernised during this major
£1.1 million investment project to enhance student learning, but
the most significant changes have taken place on the ground
floor.
“The
refurbishment of the Fountains Learning Centre has allowed us to
take a fresh approach to how we deliver learning resources in an
invigorating and exciting new way. The focus is on enhancing
flexibility, customer service, accessibility and technology
support. It has involved a big community effort and we can be very
proud of the end result.”
Professor David Fleming, Vice Chancellor
“We are over the moon that the University has made
this investment – including £50,000 for core texts. The Fountains
Learning Centre is now a lot more inviting with colour zoning, soft
seating areas and the beanbags! The investment shows that the
University is not standing still and takes notice of students’
feedback on learning resources.”
Leigh Hankinson, President, Students’ Union
