The Faculty of Arts - Unlimited Opportunities

When you study in the Faculty of Arts, you will not be confined to a small community but immersed in a global one. Every single arts student will have the opportunity to have an international experience of some sort during their time at York St John. Because we have forged so many links with academic institutions in Europe, the US and elsewhere, the options are almost limitless.

Six Lips rehearsingSix Lips

Three York St John University Theatre graduates set up Six Lips, a 12 month internship at Bar Lane Studios in York. Roxanna Klimaszewska, Anna James and Hannah Wallace formed Six Lips  two years after the three girls met during their studies at York St John. Anna James, co-founder of Six Lips said: “The Theatre course at York St John gave us a glimpse of many performance styles, and Bar Lane is giving us the chance to flaunt that experience. The internship is all about developing our own style while turning it into a business.”

 

 

DesignWorks - John Green Design - Embrace TableDesignWorks

DesignWorks is an incubation space, right in the heart of the YSJ campus, for start up businesses in product design. It offers office space, free business mentoring & advice, academic expertise and advice and workshop access. Among those who have successfully launched their businesses from DesignWorks is YSJ graduate John Green whose designs have featured in international magazines and at exhibitions in London, Paris and New York.

The University expects to welcome more students this year who want to develop their own unique products and establish businesses in York to help rebuild the local and regional economy."
