Dance BA (Hons)
In Dance, we aim to give undergraduate students an experience
that normally they would have to wait until they are graduates to
have. We see them not as students but as artists in training. We
equip them with the skills needed not only to become performers but
in all aspects of professional practice. You can study our Dance
programme as a Specialist degree.

Our research is part and parcel of our
teaching here at York St John. Many of the modules studied by Dance
students have been informed by the research work of our team of
experienced dance teachers and academics. |

On arriving at YSJ, new dance students can take
part in an exchange programme and spend the first semester of their
second year at Potsdam State University of New York.

At YSJ Dance our links with the
professional industry include close partnerships with York City
Council and Yorkshire Dance. We offer students practice based
opportunities to discover which area of dance they are interested
in through professional placements. We also have strong links to
dance activity and development in the local community.
