Fine Arts BA (Hons)

Our programme is geared towards developing students'
understanding of the location of fine art within contemporary
society. Through this, we help them unlock their potential as
emerging art practitioners.
You can study our Fine Arts programme as a

We believe that students should gain
opportunities to work as researchers in practice and that academics
should exploit their research interests and networks to introduce
students directly into the world of professional practice. Our
teacher-practitioner-scholars enjoy high-profile recognition in the
fields of advocacy, curating, educating, exhibiting, making and
writing.
|
|
Regular field trips and input from visiting
practitioners is an important feature of the programme. Artists and
curators give talks, tutorials and help design and
deliver projects or modules. There are also many opportunities
for international exchanges in Europe and North
America. |
|
As well as working with nationally and
internationally recognised artists and curators, we have also built
close links with galleries and other visual arts
organisations. This not only contributes toward the cultural life
of York, but also ensures students' work is available for sale and
commission and offers galleries privileged access to high quality
contemporary fine art work.
