Music Production - Working with others
We have an extensive range of contacts with
professionals currently working in Music Production in all its
aspects. Guest lectures, workshops and masterclasses with record
producers, mixing and mastering engineers, recordists, composers
and even web designers are a vital part of the course. For
example, we have regular sessions with Paul Baily of music
production company Re:Sound where students can
discuss recordings they have made, with a top professional.
Work placements also give students the opportunity to stretch
their creative imagination. Some recent examples of the things that
our students have been up to include organising a festival
fringe event, writing a film score, writing music for a video game,
helping to create a "relaxation" CD for patients at a local
hospital, running the UK branch of an international hip-hop label
and acting as recording assistants for a music company.
