The Learning Through Business Leaders programme, which
was first run in partnership with the Northern Leadership Academy
(NLA) in May 2008, has supported 28 business directors to date.
Richard Fenwick from Flourish Innovations Ltd and Rebecca
Bramwell from My Highstreet Card, participants in the first two
cohorts of the Learning through Business Leaders programme
said:
“We found the regular group meetings very useful in networking
and exposing their businesses and ideas to fellow new business
owners. The meetings with other participants on the programme were
supportive and the structured approach of the meetings enabled the
progression of our business ideas.”
The delivery of Learning Through Business Leaders is aimed at
managers of small businesses in and around York. The seminars
received a large amount of grant funding enabling their delivery.
The Learning Through Business Leaders programme adopted the theme
of Surviving & Thriving in a changing world and explored how
well positioned a business is in times of economic uncertainty both
nationally and globally.
The courses offered at the Business School have benefited each
of their participants, many of whom have been able to recognise and
develop a new direction which will successfully aid their
businesses in the future
