Why choose us?
Living in York
Often described as the UK’s favourite city, York is renowned for
its heritage, including the iconic York Minster. Just two
hours from London by train, with two universities it is home to
20,000 students. The city has a strong cultural and economic
community, with a flourishing cutting edge scene.
Facilities
De Grey Court
York St John Business School is housed in De
Grey Court, our latest £15.5million development. De Grey
Court is a signature building that is designed to complete the
dynamic modernisation of the campus. Located in a prominent
position, at the gateway to the city and close by the medieval
walls and York Minster, it links the city centre with the
University quarter.
Fountains Learning Centre
The recently refurbished Fountains Learning
Centre provides access to resources of all kinds, including books,
journals, media materials, archives and IT. We provide a wide
range of print and electronic research tools. You will enjoy
full access to all IT facilities from any of the IT access areas
and remotely via the internet.
Value & Scholarships
York is a beautiful and desirable place to live, but its
location in the North East of the UK also means that living costs
are more manageable than in other areas. York St John also
works hard to ensure that we offer competitive tuition fees which
offer value for money for our students.
York St John offers a number of scholarships each year for
international students studying at Masters Level. Check the
‘International’ section under ‘Fees and Scholarships’ for more
information and application forms.
Employability
York St John University programmes are designed with your goals
in mind – a good job at the end of your studies. We work to
develop programmes which meet the needs of employers both in the UK
and world-wide, and to give you the opportunity to get some
practical experience of working with UK businesses during your
studies.
Outside of your programme, there are further opportunities for
volunteering. Our Careers Service can help you find a
part-time job on or off campus, and they also offer skills
development workshops. As you near graduation, they are on
hand to help you with your CV, job applications and interview
techniques.
