Alan holds membership of a number of professional bodies related to academia and professional practice, which he incorporates into the curriculum.

Alan undertakes external examining at two institutions within the UK and was a reviewer for the British Academy of Management Conference 2012, on the Leadership & Leadership Development Track.

Alan has previously worked in conjunction with a range of employers and employer groups including York NHS Hospital Trust, the National Skills Academy for Financial Services, Warrington Borough Council, Warrington Chamber of Commerce, and the OMEGA Development Group.

Alan was responsible for devising and writing a range of module sets for the Ascentis Awarding Body’s Access to HE (Business) Diploma. These module sets are now available to all providers validated by Ascentis and are available at http://www.ascentis.co.uk/qualification.asp?qid=2231.
