Profile Teaching Professional Activities Research

Glyn Littlewood is Head of programme for International Development programmes and also a Senior Lecturer in Business Management, teaching across a wide variety subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Whilst mainly concerned with marketing, marketing planning, international marketing and organisational strategy he also has a strong interest in leadership and, operations management. His teaching is informed by a commitment to bridging the gaps between the academic environment and the world of management practice so that when students enter employment they do so with awareness and an array of skills that prepares them for the challenges of contemporary business. This model of professional relevance permeates his whole approach to learning so that students are challenged to make appropriate connections between what they learn in the classroom and as independent learners, and the demands of the business environment. Glyn’s own experience in industry has informed both his teaching and his commitment to ensure that students make the best use of their time in the university. Glyn is also an experienced practitioner in curriculum development and quality management in Higher Education and his experience in the UK and overseas underpins both his practice in learning and teaching and his clear focus on student experience.
