Masters degree

A further course that can be taken after your first degree is complete to give you a postgraduate qualification. Can be followed by a PhD.

 

Means tested

The calculation used to decide how much money you will be offered in loans and grants, depending on family income. Most students from a care background are classed as independent, so family income is not taken into account.

 

Module

A section of the course that focuses on a particular area of the subject you are studying.

 

Moodle

A type of Virtual Learning Environment commonly used by universities to complement face to face teaching.
