Personal Statement

The most important part of your application to a university. Your opportunity to explain why you would be a successful student on the course you are applying for.

 

PhD

The highest academic qualification you can get, usually gained by completing a long piece of research over several years. People with PhD’s are allowed to call themselves ‘Dr’.

 

Postgraduate

Any qualification taken after your first degree is complete.

 

Professor

A member of teaching staff at a university who has been recognised for having a high level of expertise in their subject.
