International Students
If you are an international (non-EU) student studying at York St
John, it is still possible for you to work part-time or volunteer
whilst at University, and to find employment in the UK after you
have graduated.
If you are here on a Tier 4 visa, studying at degree level or
above (i.e. not on a foundation degree), you can work/volunteer for
up to 20 hours a week whilst studying (this includes time spent
working on a dissertation or preparing to resit examinations).
During the holiday period, you can work for up to 40 hours a
week.
The conditions for finding employment after you have graduated
are more complicated, and you are advised to speak with the
international office or the Careers & Employability team to
discuss in more detail.
For any visa-related enquiry, you can contact visa@yorksj.ac.uk for help.
