Resources
Students on our English language and linguistics and TESOL
programmes have access to a wide range of specialist
resources. These resources support effective, flexible learning, as
well as providing access to a national, and international,
community of linguists.
Our new Linguistics Lab, for example, has enabled
modules on our programmes to feature learning activities which
enable students to play a very active part in their study.
The York St John Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle, provides detailed
information for students who are thinking of applying or have
applied for the BA ELL and the MA
TESOL. Moodle also has information for current students
about each of their modules, including: module handbooks,
discussion forums, downloadable learning materials, videos, and
links to useful module-specific resources. Our students can book
tutorials with their Module Directors, Academic Tutor and Head of
Programme using the online Tutorial
Booker.
The York St John Library
has an easy-to-search online catalogue and a growing number of
electronic books and journals for use on and off campus. The
library homepage also has links to advice
for new students, information about how to reference and cite resources in your
written work, as well as specialist
advice for ELL and TESOL students.
We aim to provide a wide range of international experiences for our
students, in our classrooms, online, socially and through study
abroad opportunities.
