The Phoenix Centre
The Phoenix Centre, independently housed within
York St John University’s main campus in the centre of York,
opened its doors in April 2009 to provide affordable
space for new creative and IT-based ventures, with access to
specialist technical facilities and sector-specific business
support, mentoring and training.
The facility has been developed by Science
City York in direct response to feedback from members of its
Creative York and IT & Digital York networks, fulfilling an
identified requirement for a centrally located, incubation facility
to support the region’s growing creative and digital
sectors.
Business can occupy space in the Centre for a
maximum of one year and spaces are offered at a minimal monthly
cost. In addition to successful applicants benefiting from
extremely affordable, well-serviced business premises, the Centre
also offers prime access to specialist support and facilities, with
optimal opportunities for networking and collaboration.
