The Creative Condition
In November 2012, combining their skills in
film, marketing and PR, and animation, Mike Leigh Cooper, Jonathan
Sillence and Dom Smith registered their new media company, The
Creative Condition. With an aim to get people engaged and excited
about events, products and projects, the company works with
business to raise their profiles.
Their client list is a testament to their hard
work: Channel 4, the BBC and a variety of other independent
production companies. They have worked as media trainers on
pan-European projects with Youth4Media in over six countries and
represented the UK for the European Commission. Closer to home,
they work with local councils, youth parliaments and a host of
community groups.
Mike and Dom have bother previously benefitted
from Proof of Concept funding for their independent businesses.
Together, The Creative Condition received the Business Growth Fund
from the Creative Business Office at YSJ, part-financed by the
European Union. This grant allowed them to have greater access to
marketing resources, new equipment and business networks. The
result of their experience has been new contracts, commissions and
potential business contacts.
Dom writes, “It's helped us achieve much more
clarity with regards to what we want to do as a business. We're
looking to develop new strategies in 2013 to attract more community
and corporate clients, and produce excellent video and written
content for them. Since we have succeeded in this programme, we
feel much more confident in taking our ideas forward in the new
year.”
"I can only recommend Mike's
services as an essential element of communication projects that
brings energy and cleverness through dynamic participation and
professional involvement in social networking and audiovisual
production." - Georges Drouet, European Coordinator of the
