Creative Business Development Manager
With 15 years of
experience of working within the culture and creative sector Jenny
played a major role in the development of many creative businesses
and organisations in the North of England. Having worked in Local
Government for many years Jenny branched out in 2008 to set up her
own creative business Jenny Hall Associates.
Jenny set up and
currently leads York St John University’s Creative Business
Development department helping pre-start up and graduate
businesses. The programme provides business coaching for a wide
range of creative businesses from film companies to contemporary
dancers.
An experienced curator
and creative producer Jenny has managed a range of facilities,
teams and programmes, ranging from art galleries to railway museums
and theatres. She has specialist expertise in devising and
commissioning creative and cultural interventions. Examples
include the founding of Tees Valley Dance, AV Festival, The Story
Engine Screenwriting Conference, The Exhibitionist Redcar and
Cleveland Open Studios Event. She is also creative producer
and co-curator of ‘We Are Open’ empty shops programme in
Middlesbrough.
Jenny has become a
specialist in creative business growth and development with
expertise in financial management, innovation, market place and
export. In the last two years she has worked with over 80
creative entrepreneurs and artists helping them successfully
exploit new markets, develop new business models and increase
productivity through collaboration.
