I transferred to York St John two years ago from a different university and I'm so glad I did.  York St John University's friendly and supportive atmosphere makes university life what it should be; fun and inspiring.

When starting my first year on the BA (Hons) Children, Young People and Families programme, it struck me how lucky I was to be part of this University.  I look forward to the lectures; they are always fun and engaging but also in-depth and you always feel well equipped for assignments.  We study such a broad range of topics that I feel I am fully prepared for potential jobs or further study in the future.  This was tested not that long ago when I went for a job interview and ended up being offered an even higher position!

The academic staff and tutors are some of the most fantastic and inspiring people you will meet as well as extremely supportive and attentive, something that isn't often found within other universities.  This is particulary useful when it's the end of term and everyone needs some guidance and direction with assignments.

Before I came to this University, I always thought I was rather average academically, it wasn't until I studied these topics I found I really wanted to learn, and now I've started getting Firsts!  The passion and knowledge that is passed on to you is invaluable.  You will learn to challenge your own opinions and assumptions.  In studying on the Children, Young People and Families programme, I can guarantee you will be enthused, you will be pushed, and most of all, you will take an experience away with you that you will always treasure.
