Rob Creasy
Head of Foundation Degrees in Educational Studies

Rob is currently Head of Programmes for
Foundation Degree in Supporting Learning and for Foundation Degree
in Working with Children and Young people as well as holding the
post of Senior Teaching Fellow within the Faculty of Education
& Theology.
Rob has taught in FE and HE since 1988,
initially in Social Sciences, before developing interests and work
in education. He was involved in early developments in Foundation
Degrees in Early Years and Learning Support. Alongside this he has
been involved in the widening participation agenda and has
significant experience with non-traditional students including
working for the Open University on a range of courses. He has also
been engaged as a Subject Specialist Reviewer for the Quality
Assurance Agency for HE in both Education and Social Science, and
is a Fellow of the HEA.
His first degree followed a DipHE at what was
Doncaster Institute of HE and is in Applied Social Studies from
Sheffield City Polytechnic. This was followed with a PGCE(FE) from
Huddersfield Polytechnic. He holds an MA in
Social and Public Policy from the University of Leeds and a
M.Ed from the Open University. He is currently engaged in studying
for an Ed.D. focusing upon issues concerning assessment as a
strategy to tame a wicked problem within Higher Education. His
wider academic interests reflect his eclectic background which has
incorporated a number of academic disciplines and experiences.
