Bachelor of Education (Honours)
I came to York St. John in 2002 (returning to my native
part of the world) after teaching for 15 years in primary schools
in London. I built up a wealth of experience working with children
from diverse backgrounds and with a wide variety of Special Needs
especially hearing impairment. During my time in school I was
curriculum co-ordinator for English, Maths, PE, Creative Arts and
Senior Teacher in charge of induction, staff development and
ITT.
At York St. John I have taught a wide range of
subjects including Geography, English, PSHCE and PE on
undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Currently I am working
on professional studies, dance and PE modules and I am school
experience director for PGCE part-time SE2.
I am currently studying for an MA in
Educational Improvement, Development and Change. I am a member of
the Higher Education Academy and the Association for Physical
Education.
