headshot of Caroline Elbra-RamsayI came to St John’s after many years as a primary teacher and deputy head teacher, teaching across all age groups and leading several school developments.  My main interests lie in the teaching of primary literacy and formative assessment in both primary and higher education.

As a senior lecturer at St John’s, I teach on both the Under Graduate and Post Graduate programmes leading both English and Professional modules. In addition I am the Under Graduate Year Three leader as well as the PGCE Admissions Officer.

My research interests are around formative assessment and how primary practice can be modified to suit the needs of HE.
