Information:
Leaving behind a career in ophthalmic nursing Lynn came to York
St John as a mature student to study for a degree in Theology and
Psychology. Discovering a real passion for theology, she went
on to complete a Master’s Degree and, at the same time she
gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Post Compulsory Education,
qualifying as a teacher in Higher Education. Lynn has been a Reader
in the Church of England for many years, serving at St Luke the
Evangelist in York and, since January 2010, has worked part-time
for York Diocese as their Diocesan Director of Reader Studies,
carrying responsibility for Reader initial and continuing
ministerial training.
Lynn is the York Centre Tutor for the Foundation Degree in
Theology and Ministry and teaches on a number of the modules,
having a special interest in the Old Testament and in practical
Ministry and placement based learning. Bringing together these
interests, she is currently reading for a DthM in the field of
practical theology, focusing on continuing ministerial education.
She also teaches on the BA in Theology and Ministry and the
Christian theology strand of the BA in Theology and Religious
studies and is a member of the Higher Education Academy.
