Research interests

The practice and perception of metalanguage in the context of the primary classroom.

Pupil voice in teaching and learning language and literacy.

Teaching writing in the early/primary years.

The TDA/PNS Leading Partners in Literacy project, focusing on the teaching of early reading and systematic synthetic phonics, and the trainee teacher's progress within this.

  • 2009-2011: Primary National Strategy: Regional Network Meeting for ITT Providers/ Literacy: Dissemination of YSJ activities at a number of network meetings as part of the Leading Partners in Literacy project.
