My research interests are school workforce
remodelling, teaching assistant identities, apprenticeships,
feminisation of TAs and their work, work-based learning in
higher education. Presently I am engaged in undertaking
research for my PhD which has a working title of ‘An Ethnographic
Analysis of Teaching Assistants’ Engagement with Foundation Degree
Study’ at the University of York. I am also co-ordinating a student
as a researcher project. This is joint project working
alongside one of our undergraduates. The research aims
to explore the impact that foundation degree study
can have on para-professionals who are endeavouring to
meet young people's needs in an era of inter-professional
working.
