Val’s main research interests focus on the development of self-esteem in children with Additional Educational Needs, with particular reference to those with Special Educational Needs and Dual or Multiple Exceptionality, and the development and management of inclusive practice in schools. She is currently working on a collaborative TDA funded project, developing an e-learning resource area to support the development of inclusive practice on school experience and in schools.

 

Val is currently studying for a PhD; the focus of this study is to develop new forms of pedagogical practice in order to support the development of professional identity in ITE students with learning disabilities, with particular reference to transitions between contexts such as University and school experience placements.
