Catholic Studies - Programme Overview

The Certificate in Catholic Studies at York St John University combines an externally recognised qualification, the

CCRS (Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies) awarded by the Catholic Bishop's Conference of England and Wales

with the University accredited qualification:

The Certificate in Catholic Studies

The CCRS is a national qualification offered by the Catholic Education Service and is run by York St John in association with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Middlesbrough

It is taken by people for many reasons – to increase knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith from a Catholic perspective, as a route into Christian ministry, and in particular as a qualification which is desirable for teaching in Roman Catholic schools.
