General questions
How can I visit the
Faculty?
Please contact the Programme Administrator to arrange a
convenient day for your visit.
Where is the Theology
office?
The Theology office is based on the 1st floor of the
McGregor Building - number 13
on the campus map »
What are the Theology office opening
hours?
The office is open Monday to Thursday from 8.30am to 5.00pm and
Friday from 8.30am to 1.00pm
How long will it take to complete
FDTM or
FDE
programmes?
Four years part-time study.
How long will it take to
complete BATM (top
up) programme?
Two - Three years part-time study.
What are the term dates?
The academic year is separated into 3 terms:
- autumn (September to December)
- spring (January to March)
- summer (April to July)
How much does it cost?
Please enquire for the current fees at the centre where you wish
to study the programme at.

What support and
resources will I have access to?
Students on FDTM,
FDE and
BATM (top
up) have access to handbooks to support them in their
studies. These include:
- Programme Handbook - explaining the overall programme
- Referencing Guide - guidance on the University's referencing
style
- Placement Handbook - to share with their placement
provider
- Module Handbooks - explaining the aims and assessment
strategies for each module
- Module Readers
- IT and Resources Guide - explaining how to access online
resources including Moodle and YSJU library where you can
access online journals and ebooks
Additional support includes:
- Students studying at locations other than York can access other
academic libraries by registering for the SCONUL scheme
- Students may access YSJU's student support services, please

How do I apply for FDTM?
Please complete the online application form, which can be
accessed from
here.
Before completing the online application form it is important to
read the application
guidelines as it contains vital information on completing the
online process.
We also strongly advise that you contact your Centre Tutor
before making an application, please click

How do I apply for BATM (top up)?
Complete the application form, which can be obtained:
Please return completed applications to the Programme
Administrator for study at York - YSJU only.

Applications for other centres should be returned to the centre

If you have any questions regarding applying for
the BATM (top
up) programme please contact the Programme Administrator who
will be happy to help.
Who can I use for a
reference?
Your reference should be written by a suitably qualified person
e.g. academic tutor or employer. Ideally the reference should
be an academic reference - i.e. someone who can comment
on your academic work and suitability for entry to the
particular programme you are applying for. If you are having
difficulty in obtaining an academic reference (e.g. you have been
out of education for some time) then please use an employer/work
referee who can comment on your suitability for the course and any
relevant professional experience.
When can I apply?
FDTM
For the FDTM programme early application is
encouraged but you can apply at any time. You may start your
studies in September, January or April.
FDE

BATM (top up)
For the BATM programme you need to apply in time to start your
study in September.
Please contact the Programme Administrator for
further details.
Is there a closing date by which I must
submit my application?
Applications are received on an ongoing basis until the
programme has been filled.
Part time applicants are also encouraged to apply
early and not later than two weeks before the start of a
term in which they would like to start their studies.
Any applicants who we are unable to make an offer of a place
will be informed and asked if they would like their application
rolled over to the next available entry date.

I wish to withdraw my application, what
do I need to do?
If you no longer wish to study at the University, you should
decline the offer that we have made to you by contacting the
Programme Administrator.
What is an Enrolment email and
when will I receive it?
Applicants whose places have been confirmed will be sent an
Enrolment email of information (from August onwards) which will
include details on the following:
a. Instructions on how to
enrol online
b. Your Student ID
Number
c. Your Enrolment
Key
d. Information on Welcome
Week
If you do not receive your Enrolment email and you think
you have satisfied all Admission requirements please
contact the Programme Administrator as soon as possible
at FDTM@yorksj.ac.uk
