FDTM with BATM (top up) - Staff

Academic staff involved in delivering the FDTM and BATM Programmes.

Both programmes

The Revd Dr John Williams - Acting Head of FDTM and BATM Programmes, Senior Lecturer in Theology & Ministry

John teaches on both programmes. His research interests are in the churches’ theology and practice of ministry and mission as these relate to the sociological context and surrounding culture. In particular John is looking at the strategies for ministry being developed by Church of England dioceses in the light of the falling numbers of full-time paid clergy. He is also interested in the changing patterns of theological education for ministry and especially the role played by HE validated academic programmes in these.

Dr Ann Christie - Senior Lecturer in Theology & Ministry

Ann's main research interest is in ‘ordinary theology’, understood as the theology and theologising of Christians who have received little or no theological education of a scholarly, academic or systematic kind. Ordinary theology research investigates (using social-scientific methods) both the content of peoples’ beliefs and the processes of learning, holding, developing, patterning and critiquing these beliefs.
