The University is committed to promoting effective working relationships and an environment in which employees feel able to raise work-related issues with their managers. One of the ways to achieve this is by providing a clear framework within which employees can seek to have their concerns responded to efficiently and effectively, and where possible, by informal means.  The Grievance Procedure provides such a framework and has been developed with reference to the principles and practice contained within the ACAS Code of Practice on Discipline and Grievance (2009).

In the academic year 2012/13 no member of staff invoked a formal grievance under the agreed procedure.
