Gender Reassignment
Profile
Like the majority of higher education
establishments, the University does not currently monitor the
gender identity of its staff. This decision was taken is in
recognition of the high levels of concern within the Transgender
community about the purpose and use of such monitoring, and the
need to build confidence in the University’s approach to issues of
gender identity and gender reassignment before introducing a
monitoring process.
There is no large survey data available at
national level for the number of people who identify as
Transgender.
