Asthma

"Breathing in certain dusts, gases, fumes and vapours within the workplace can cause asthma. Asthma is a very serious health problem that can ruin lives. Shortness of breath, wheezing and painful coughing are just some of the symptoms that occupational asthma sufferers may have to deal with every day."

If you suffer from asthma and want more information in respect of occupational elements to this you must report this to your line manager, who is responsible for taking steps to control any asthma related hazards as part of your workplace risk assessment.  It will also be important to follow this up both with your own GP but also – potentially with the Occupational Health Service through the University.
