Stress

York St John University values the contribution of all its staff and is committed to promoting and maintaining the health and wellbeing of all employees.  Within our Wellbeing Framework, the University seeks to provide an environment which allows all staff to achieve their optimal physical, psychological and social health.

Commitment

As part of our commitment, the University will take all reasonably practicable steps to identify, control and manage workplace risks to ensure that the University offers a safe and healthy working environment for all staff.  This includes identifying, controlling and managing workplace pressure in order to minimise the risk to University staff of work related stress.

This commitment to take steps to minimise the risk of work related stress is supported by an overall Policy and guidance available on the Human Resources Health & Wellbeing website:

  • Stress Management Policy Statement
  • Avoidance and Management of Work Related Stress: Guidance for Managers
  • Avoidance and Management of Work Related Stress: Guidance for Individuals
  • Stress management Risk Assessment Form
  • Stress Management FAQ

In addition, an on-line package Beating Stress package is available for all staff to use to help recognise and manage stress.
