Full Mailbox
Searching for and deleting large emails
1. After opening Outlook choose a folder
(Inbox, Sent Items, etc..), ‘right-click’ on ‘Arrange by Date’ and
choose ‘Size’. Now press the ‘Home’ key on your keyboard to
take you to the top of the list.

2. You should then see your emails sorted
into size categories starting with the largest emails at the
top.

3. To delete an email you can
either:
a. ‘Right-click’ the email and choose
delete from the menu or…
b. Highlight the email with a single
‘left-click’ and choose Delete from the Toolbar.
Tip: To delete multiple emails hold your
finger on the Ctrl key of your keyboard whilst clicking on each
email. This will highlight multiple emails.
4. After deleting an email it will be
moved to the ‘Deleted Items’ folder of your mailbox. However,
emails stored in the ‘Deleted Items’ folder still count towards
your email quota so it is advisable to ‘Right-click’ the ‘Deleted
Items’ folder and choose ‘Empty Deleted Items’.
5. Once an email has been deleted from
your ‘Deleted Items’ folder it will no longer count towards your
quota. Should you wish to recover one of these emails simply
‘right-click’ the ‘Deleted Items’ folder and choose ‘Recover
Deleted Items’.
Please note that recoverable emails
will be available for a period of up to 30 days after being
permanently deleted.
6. We now need to do the reverse of
step one. Change the list back to ‘Arrange by Date’ and press
the ‘Home’ key to revert to the original view.
