Q: Can Lync be used whilst off Campus?
A: Yes it can! As long as you have an internet connection
your Lync client will contact our servers on campus and provide you
with the same experience as if on campus. To sign in whilst
off site enter your email address and password.
Q: Is Lync available on Mobile devices?
A: Yes. A Lync client is available for Android, iPad,
iPhone, Windows Phone & Nokia (Symbian Belle). More
information can be found
here. These clients provide access to Presence, IM
& viewing contacts.
Q: Is there a Lync client for Mac?
A: Yes. You can download it here.
Q: Do I need to request a Lync account?
A: No. Your Lync account is automatically created at the
same time as your main Windows account / email address. By
default all YSJ users are Lync enabled.
Q: Do I need to have Outlook installed for Lync to
work?
A: No, however there are several benefits to having
Outlook installed including the ability to schedule and send online
meeting invitations.
