Printing Trouble Shooting

Welcome to the printer trouble shooting pages, here you can find additional information for common problems encountered when using the print system:

I cannot log into the photocopiers?

The username and password are the same as you use for logging into the university computers and are authenticated against the same system. If you entre your password incorrectly three times in a row, on either the computer or the photocopiers it will lock your account for 10 minutes. Even with the correct password you will not be able to log in during this timeout period.

Also the touchscreens on the photocopiers sometimes do not respond immediately to a press on the screen this can cause you to enter the same characters twice. Try to enter it one character at a time to ensure each letter appears before entering the next.

Special characters in your password are excellent for keeping your account secure, however they can sometimes be more difficult to enter on the touchscreen. So please take extra care when using these characters.

I cannot login to recharge my balance?

The budget recharge service uses a different password to your normal YSJ one, however the username is the same. For details on how to recharge your balance please click here.

My printing came out double sided?

The default print option is to print on both sides. To alter this behaviour you have to change it before submitting the print job. Please click here for details.
