Chapter in a book

Use the name of the author of the chapter as your in-text citation. In your reference list give their name and the title of their chapter, but also include the name of the book's editor and its title, using ed. or eds. after the name(s) of the editor(s).

  • Doumani (1999, p.31) stresses the difficulty of answering questions about 'the nature of Palestinian society' until Palestinians are written into their own history.
  • Full reference:

Edited books

If you refer to an edited book as a whole, not just one chapter, use the editor's name (followed by ed. or eds.) in your reference list.
