Historical Archives

The Archive is responsible for the management of the University's archive collection, which is material relating to history of the University and personalities and activities associated with it.

Viewing material

There is no public access to the Archive, which is held in Fountains Learning Centre, but if visits are arranged in advance, material can be brought out for viewing. Please see our Staffing times for details of when Information Learning Services staff are available. Photocopying is possible by arrangement. Digital photography may be permissible: please check with Information Learning Services staff.

It is possible to view any of the documents held in the Archive. Please apply to Information Learning Serves by post, email or phone.  Please contact us  for further information, to arrange a visit,  or to deposit items of interest.

Acquisitions policy

To strengthen existing collections on the history of the institution and its background, including relevant biographical material and other material relating to the history of education, particularly Church colleges.

The University's Records Management Service

The University Archive operates a records management service for the University's Administrative and Academic departments. This comprises retention and retrieval of non-current records required for administrative and legal purposes, and appraisal and selection of key record series for permanent retention.
