Materials to help you

An excellent programme from Macmillan for help with pronouncing the sounds of English correctly - British or American. The basic programme is free. There is a very small price for extra features. Download onto Apple and Android phones and tablets.
Remember, the good online dictionaries give you the pronunciation of individual words free.
Free help from the BBC learners' website
This free online pronunciation course from Okanagan University College is helpful for a lot of common difficulties with individual sounds.
Help pronouncing the sounds of American English from Iowa University
You can use Sky Pronunciation Suite in the Language Support Centre (Holgate 1.37). Check opening hours.
We also have the excellent English Pronunciation in Use CDs and books at the Language Support Centre (Holgate 137 - check opening hours).
