Recognising Academic Practice: YSJ CPD Framework
.jpg)
The University is committed to providing high
quality staff development that will assist in enhancing our
learning, teaching and assessment practices which will subsequently
positively impact on the student experience. The YSJ CPD Framework
brings together all our academic staff development into a single
scheme that is mapped to the UK Professional Standards
Framework. The framework provides opportunities for staff to
achieve recognition as Associate Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow or
Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy through a
process that is managed internally. This means that we can assess
staff in house and award recognition to those who meet the
professional standards at each of these descriptor levels.
Associate Fellowship is for staff who
influence the student learning experience but who are often not
involved in the assessment process. The Fellowship route is for
experienced staff who have been teaching in higher education for a
minimum of two years. Please note that all “new to teaching” staff
are required to complete the postgraduate certificate in academic
practice which leads to Fellowship. Senior Fellowship is for staff
who wish to gain recognition of their leadership and mentoring of
others in learning and teaching. Principal Fellowship is for staff
who strategically influence the direction of learning and teaching
within and without the institution.
We have created a practical guide to help you
work out what HEA Fellowship is right for you and to support the
development of your application for Fellowship, as recognised
within the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and
Supporting Learning in HE (UKPSF, 2011), you can view it here:
