University Teaching Fellows

University Teaching Fellows

The purpose of the YSJ Teaching Fellow scheme is to reward and recognise the work of individual staff members for their contribution to the enhancement of teaching and/or supporting student learning and to their contribution to meeting the learning and teaching goals of the Faculty/Department and University.

YSJ has over 40 Teaching Fellows from a wide range of subjects, Faculties and Departments. The Teaching Fellows work collaboratively with Learning and Teaching Development to help in motivating change and enhancement in all aspects of teaching learning and assessment. Teaching Fellows mentor others, they get involved in the annual learning and teaching event, participate in the new teaching staff induction and meet together on a regular basis to network and share practice. New Teaching Fellows are appointed 3 times a year by the University Teaching Fellowship Panel.

The next round of applications for University Teaching Fellowships (UTFs) will be in May 2013. The deadline for applications is 13 May 2013. For further information you can download UTF Information document and an application form. If you need any advice, please contact Mandy Asghar.
