Piggy BankAt some point during your studies, you may find yourself feeling the pinch!  If you begin to have difficulties paying the rent, bills, or having enough money to fund your next meal, please do not hesitate to contact the Student Funding Advice Team for advice on budgeting, managing debts or for information about financial help from University funds.

Access to Learning Fund (ALF)

The Government provides Higher Education institutions with ALF to provide discretionary financial help for both full and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate UK students.

The Fund can help alleviate unexpected financial hardship and students who may be considering leaving higher education because of financial problems are particularly encouraged to apply. Students should be aware that ALF is intended to act as a safety net for those in financial difficulty rather than their main source of income.

Regrettably we cannot meet every application we receive and we cannot always meet all of the costs that you might apply for. Any awards made are non repayable.
