Howard Webb

Howard Webb - Work image Leading the Field

Howard Webb MBE is a Premiership and International Football Referee. Howard is an accomplished referee and is commended for his work in football officiating for being the first man to referee the UEFA Champions League final and the FIFA World Cup final in the same year. He is also a police sergeant for South Yorkshire Police. Howard was awarded an Honorary Graduate Degree from York St John University in 2011, Doctor of Health Sciences (honoris causa), his award is in recognition of his huge contribution to sport.

Howard's lecture will be entitled ‘Leading the Field’ and focused on his journey from grassroots football to the World Cup final, looking at the personal skills and attributes required. During the talk Howard highlighted the importance of self-belief, perseverance and teamwork. This lecture as an enjoyable, insightful and unique look into the high-profile world of Howard Webbs career.
