Yorkshire based international healthcare technology consultant boosts skills with business programme
Entrepreneur Damien Bove has grown his
specialist healthcare technology consulting firm, IDA Consultants,
by 75 per cent in 12 months with the help of a York St John
Business School business improvement programme which encourages
learning from your business peers.
The company, which works with national and
international clients in the healthcare sector to develop new
product innovations into a commercial reality, has achieved this
rapid growth with the launch of two new services designed to
provide specialist industry training.
IDA Consultants provides regulatory,
pre-clinical and clinical development advice to start up and
maintain companies, helping businesses to target their technology
and define their development programmes. The company was
established 6 years ago by Damien, who recently won a prestigious
Yorkshire Enterprise Fellowship (YEF) award for Best Personal
Damien has benefited through the York St John
Business School Learning Through Business Leaders programme which
offers business owners advice and support on how to improve their
existing business through a series of workshops. Damien
initially joined the programme at York St John University because
he was interested in business improvement and growth and was
impressed at the scope it provided.
Damien said: “The programme provided the
opportunity to consider the challenges faced with running a
business with other non-competitive course participants.”
He added: “I believe there is always something new to learn and the
programme has provided me with new knowledge and skills to help
address the issues that a growing business faces.”
The programme focuses on strategic problem
solving and every course member can identify a topic to be examined
at each meeting. Business leaders learn from each other,
whilst being given the opportunity to talk about their business in
a confidential environment.

in 2009, runs the business school workshops for business
owners. The workshops are particularly popular with people who
are running businesses alone and those who are looking for external
support. Jules offers expert advice and provides an outsider’s
insight into how to run a successful business.
The Learning Through Business Leaders course
enabled Damien to meet with a high calibre of local businesspeople
from a broad range of sectors.
