York St John University is on the Mark for inclusive fitness
York St John University’s Health and Fitness Suite, managed
by YSJActive, has been accredited under the Inclusive Fitness
Initiative (IFI) for its commitment to offering opportunities that
enable disabled people to become physically active.
The IFI is a programme that ensures facilities
meet the required standards of equipment, access, qualified staff
and equality.
Richard Smith, YSJActive Development Officer,
said: “Our team has been working hard on everything from access to
staff training and equipment, so it’s fantastic to be recognised
with the IFI Mark. Hopefully we can encourage even more students,
staff and members of the local community to get active no matter
what their disability.”
YSJActive provides an exciting range of
opportunities for sport, exercise and recreation. To find out more
