Why study the MBA: Media Management?
This award aims to develop learners’ potential
for progression to a management role with a master’s level
understanding of the importance of managing media in business. It
is this understanding of how to manage the ever increasing choice
of media that is essential to the development of business in the
21st Century. As globalisation increases and markets grow, the
ability to identify which media vehicle is required to maximise a
company’s message is crucial.
The specific Media modules that help create this
discrete strand recognise the need for familiarity and intellectual
engagement with new digital developments within the media
industries whereby producers and consumers actively participate and
interact with one another in a rapidly changing media landscape.
Added to which, the global dimensions of the digital age require us
to understand the possibilities and politics of mediated products
and services that operate with both a local and global reach. These
approaches will be embedded within practical experiences which
encourage you as students to work as teams, developing and
disseminating media products and services, allowing you to
understand intellectual engagement through experiential
involvement.
