Dr Margaret Wood

Head of Programme, Taught MA Programmes in Education & PCAP 

Margaret’s professional career has included teaching in schools and working for a local authority as a school adviser, an Ofsted inspector and NPQH trainer before moving into Higher Education. Prior to coming to York St John University, Margaret worked at the University of Bradford and before that at the University of Central Lancashire.

Here at York St John she is Head of Programme for the MA in Practitioner Research: Improving Professional Practice and the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PCAP). She teaches across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, particularly in the areas of educational research and practitioner enquiry, how we learn, creativity and values education. She has some overseas teaching experience as a member of the team delivering the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice at the University of Bahrain. She has also taken part in an evaluation of a taught professional development programme for teachers in Qatar.
