About MSc Professional Health and Social Care

The MSc in Professional Health & Social Care allows students to select two of the specialist modules covering a range of topics.

It also includes three research based modules that emphasise the development of skills that allow practitioners to crucially appraise sources of evidence and apply it in order to bring about improvement within a health and social care setting.

Programme Aims:
The programme will enable graduates to demonstrate a critical awareness of a range of complex issues associated with health and social care and critically evaluate evidence in this area to improve practice.

 

What qualifications and experience do I need?

You will normally have a degree or an equivalent qualification in health or social care qualifying you for registration with a relevant professional body.

You will also have post-qualifying experience, be employed or have access to an appropriate work-related health or social care provider service.

How much does it cost?

Funded places are available on some of our postgraduate programmes for those working as health and social care professionals for an organisation providing NHS services in the Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber region.  Fully funded places are available on our Post Graduate Certificates (with the exception of PG Cert Housing & Inclusive Design, PG Cert Evaluation of Housing Interventions, and PG Cert Quality Improvement in Health & Social Care).  Part funded places are available on our Masters programmes (with the exception of MSc Housing and Inclusive Design).  If undertaking any of our health Masters programmes, the Research Methods module and the Dissertation / Research Paper component are no longer funded by Health Education.

Funded places cannot be accessed by those practitioners working outside the Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber region, or for non-NHS related organisations.

A new Postgraduate Loan is now available to help you pay for your Master’s course.
