Our partner network includes some well-
known brand names, some of which are managed at senior levels by
ex-York St John Design graduates.
A feature of the Design programme that you
will also experience is working effectively in group work. These
opportunities prepare you for the real world of work and are an
invaluable aid to you when you are starting your career on
graduation.
The Partners Forum
You also work on live projects in conjunction
with the programme’s partners forum, which allows you to get
valuable insider-feedback from design
practitioners. Recently, students have undertaken
collaborative work with our partners and the NHS producing a
revolutionary new form of day chair-bed. Other students were
successful in obtaining an opportunity to work closely with the
Chief Town Planner for York as part of a prestigious development to
enhance creative services in York. Work placements also offer you
the opportunity to get real-life experience working in the design
industry where you will learn how to manage exciting creative
projects and produce work that really means something to potential
employers when you graduate.
Working with the programmes partner forum
network provides you with experiences, evidenced in the work you
produce, that enable you to make a more successful and seamless
progression into the world of the professional practitioner by
developing a ‘language’ that speaks clearly to people already
practicing as designers, manufacturers and creative
entrepreneurs.
