About your induction
Your induction is split into three
stages:
| Pre-arrival induction |
To welcome you to York St John University our Human Resources
Department will send you a letter confirming the job offer and they
will issue your contract of employment. The Staff Development team
will contact you to inform you who your Induction Mentor will be
and also tell you about any planned training courses that you have
been booked on to as part of your induction. Your manager will
contact you to welcome you to the team and they will confirm the
arrangements for your first day.

| Local induction |
Your local induction is the part of induction that helps you to
settle in to your role and local surroundings. Your Manager is
responsible for planning your induction. They will
be supported by your Induction Mentor and other
colleagues.

| YSJ induction |
All new members of staff will be invited to attend a half
day YSJ Induction.
In addition to the YSJ Induction all new academic staff will be
invited to the annual two day Academic
Induction.

Other information to help you settle into York St John

Finding Your Way Around the Campus and Area
The
York St John University app can be used by members of staff to
navigate to and around the YSJU campus and discover places of
interest using augmented reality technology. The app also provides
users with information regarding events and courses at the
university and links up with social media accounts.
