Workshop content
This interactive and experiential session
informs participants about professional reflective dialogue, how it
can be used in peer observation, with colleagues in the
development of HEA fellowship recognition, or in relation to
other similar situations with staff or students.
On completion of the session participants will
have:
- Understood how dialogue supports reflective
learning
- Identified the ingredients of reflective
dialogue
- Engaged in reflective dialogue with a
colleague.
A brief summary of research in HE and a
reflective document will be provided for participants to take
away.
Biography
Anne is a learning and development consultant
and her activities include Coaching, Mentoring, Supervision and
Action Learning. Her publications with her co-author, Ian McGill,
include:

- The Action Learning Handbook (2004) Routledge
- Facilitating Reflective Learning through Mentoring and
Coaching (2006) Kogan Page, with a second edition due for
publication in 2012.
Anne is a member of the assessor team of the
European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and was recently
awarded the European Individual Award (EIA) at Master Practitioner
level. Anne also sits on the Standards Committee of the EMCC. Her
PhD from the Sir John Cass Business School, City University, London
UK explored the role of reflective dialogue in transformational
learning.
