Volunteering Opportunities

York Cares298pxYork Cares

York Cares is a partnership of the city's leading employers committed to making York a better place through volunteering.

York Cares partners with over 200 local charities to build an engaging and co-ordinated volunteering framework that addresses York's community needs, particularly in areas of disadvantage.

York Cares offers an annual calendar of regular volunteering programmes such as listening to primary school children read, one off projects to transform community buildings and urban green spaces or visiting the elderly and collecting for homeless people at Christmas as well as a number of special initiatives,

Staff who wish to contribute some of their time to deliver beneficial activities in school, charities and to community groups can participate in York Cares current programmes such as 'Kids' College' for disadvantaged children, and 'Starting Blocks' for young people leaving care.
